Have you worked at our wedding venue previously?
You can take a peek at the many wedding venues I’ve photographed around the Midlands area here. However, nowadays, there are hundreds of venues throughout Worcestershire, Warwickshire, the West Midlands and Gloucestershire, and I’ll simply never get to them all. For this reason, I always visit unfamiliar venues in advance of the day to get a feel for the space, available light, facilities, and perhaps most important of all – what to do if it rains! . If you’ve already got some good ideas about shots you’d like, then we can discuss these at the pre wedding meeting (see below).
Do we meet up again before our wedding?
Yes - a month before the wedding is a great time for everyone (mums and dads too if you like) to get together and discuss timings, particular photos, or whatever you like. This can be done at your home, here with us, or at the venue if you prefer.
How many pictures will you take at our wedding?
There are no limits, but at most weddings I would expect to shoot around 1200 to 1500 pictures. I edit that down, and hope to show you the best 200 - 300 or so photos.
I love your photos and want to book you – how do I do that?
If you’d like to reserve a certain date, then phone me on 07770 484 888. I’ll pencil that date in until we have a chance to meet up. I can bring a few albums for you to look at, which will give a far better impression of the quality of my pictures than the internet ever can. On a practical level, I require £100.00 deposit, and a contract signing by you both. Once we’ve done that – then that date is yours - I only ever photograph one wedding per day.
How far ahead do I need to book?
Some dates are more popular than others, so the sensible answer is, "As soon as you are able to do so". You will pay today's prices if your wedding is within two years of the date of booking.
Will you travel outside the Midlands area?
I'll happily travel anywhere within or outside the U.K, though there may be extra charges dependant on distance. E-mail or phone me on 07770 484 888 for more information.
Can we make prints from the DVD of images?
Yes! Not only can you print from them, but you can copy the disc to hand out to friends and relatives, or make your own albums. All the pictures on the disc are high resolution, edited files, ready to go, with no watermarks or restrictions.
How many pictures can we have in our album?
As many as you'd like, though I always recommend how many would look best! If you want to put more pictures in, that's fine, though often it's best to add in a few more pages and give the photos room to breathe,
How long after the wedding will our photos be ready?
I aim to have digital proofs online in your personal gallery within a few days of your wedding. All the photos on here can be ordered and posted anywhere in the world.
Can I have photos in black and white?
All the photos in your web gallery can be viewed in colour, black and white, or sepia. Just let me know if you require any of these variations in your album, or on your disc of images.
How do you choose which photos go in our album?
This is your album, not mine, and so the choice is yours. If you'd like me to help, I'd be delighted to do so, just phone or e-mail me. Once I have your list of photos, I design your album, and send over a proof for you to approve. You can make changes if you so wish – once you’re completely happy with the design, I arrange to have it produced.
What kind of cameras do you use?
I use professional level Canon digital SLR cameras and lenses.
Do you carry spare equipment?
Yes, I always carry a full back up kit.
Are you a member of a professional body?
Yes, I am a registered and qualified member of the Master Photographers Association. To achieve this, I have submitted my work for assessment by a body of professionals with the highest standards, and many years experience. As part of my membership, I am committed to, and abide by a professional code of ethics.
Do you have the relevant insurances?
I carry both professional indemnity insurance and public liability insurance specifically designed for professional photographers.
How do you deal with low light and bad weather conditions?
We’re lucky to live in such a wonderful country with such varied weather, however, on occasions, it can be somewhat unpredictable. To this end my equipment is capable of working in very low light conditions - important for older, wood-paneled venues and churches. When I visit wedding venues, one of my primary concerns is how best to operate indoors in the event of bad weather. I also have an assortment of umbrellas, white and coloured, if you’re happy to go outside, I’m very happy to get wet!. In addition to all this, I carry enough lighting equipment to set up a portable studio if necessary.
I hope this has answered your questions, if you'd like to know anything else, just phone me on 07770 484 888, or send me an e-mail.
